MISSION STATEMENT

GREENPOWERWORKS goal is to finance the transformation of mainstream America to renewable energy and its related businesses.

The US Energy Industry is facing an enormous, seemingly overwhelming set of challenges as well as facing a major energy crisis. There is potential for poor political decisions based on increasing domestic pressures associated with the continuing decline of affordability of natural gas, oil, electricity and access to solar technology.

Among the key challenges to growing the U.S. Solar marketplace are

  • its small production scale, which keeps quantities low and prices high

  • on-again-off-again government funding of solar research and development

  • scarcity of financing solutions, pricing solar out of reach of most users

  • patchwork of regulations related to solar, forcing manufacturers and buyers of solar systems to meet different requirements in each state

  • lack of coordination among companies, government agencies, the solar and building industries, or potential buyers of solar systems

  • lack of standardized, plug-and-play systems that would greatly reduce the complexity and cost of designing and installing a solar-energy system

  • lack of education about renewable energy benefits to a variety of audiences

THREE KEY LEVERS

Technology
challenges include the need for breakthrough improvements, not just incremental, that can dramatically reduce renewable energy costs and improve its efficiency and reliability. This is due in part to inadequate government support for research and development, as well as investors' sense that the potential market for solar/renewable energy is too small to justify massive infusions of capital.

Policy
challenges center on the lack of government support for solar/renewable energy, relative to conventional energy technologies. Like coal, oil, and natural gas, renewable energy is dependent on supportive policies and initiatives at the local, state, and federal levels. Few solar markets in the world today are cost-competitive without government support, except for niche markets such as off-grid power for rural electrification, water pumping, and emergency signs and phones.

Finance
presents additional challenges and opportunities for renewable energy. Cost and affordability are the key detriments for many would-be solar buyers, whether consumers, businesses, or governments. In many cases this is due to a lack of understanding of solar costs and benefits. Easy financing remains a weak link as purchasers face a lack of compelling and affordable financing opportunities. And there is a need for financiers to reassess the risks of renewable energy, giving large-scale solar projects better financing terms from lending institutions. GreenPowerWorks was formed to address these challenges as a convenient one-stop shop for green energy financing for businesses, their customers and consumers as well as investors focusing on the infrastructure for our solar energy industry. We believe that drawing on the lessons and experiences from other industries, the U.S. Renewable Energy Industry can greatly benefit from financing for innovation, research and development, financing for businesses involved in renewable energy, investment, grants and other incentives.

Our operating philosophy is founded on the following principles:

  • Solar technology integration results in lower costs and increased quality of life.

  • Financing as a tool for accessibility and flexibility can reduce costs.

  • Renewable energy product and service innovation can exceed customer expectations.

  • Solar operational excellence drives high customer satisfaction and lower costs.

  • Six Sigma quality is attainable and is applicable as a measurement and process i.e., the objective of“Six Sigma” is to deliver world-class performance, reliability, and value to the end customer.
